Senior Mechanical Engineer – Washington, DC –Job Order 2716

Responsible for leading the mechanical engineering design for a large or complex project or projects, assuring that technical, schedule and hours-expended targets are met in accordance with client expectations and applicable professional standards. Coordinates and reviews the work of mechanical engineers, designers, interns and CAD operators assigned to the project(s). Assists in mentoring mechanical engineering staff. Meets with clients, project teams, code officials, contractors and others to address mechanical discipline issues and to develop effective working relationships. Presents company engineering qualifications to clients in project interviews and informal settings. Visits construction sites or existing buildings as required for information gathering, observation, answering contractor questions, or representing the owner in preparing punch lists.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression or automatic control systems in an A/E or MEP consulting firm, proficiency in AutoCAD 2002 / 2005, ME or AE degree from an accredited college, with PE registration. LEED AP and security clearance are preferred.
