SENIOR ENGINEER

COMPANY: Late stage start-up company, well into commercialization, that develops and manufactures products to precisely control the instantaneous release of heat energy for reaction initiation and joining applications. Building from its strengths in material science, computer modeling and process engineering, provides solutions to its partners and customers in commercial and defense industries.

SUMMARY: Actively participate in the development of foil technology from product concept through product launch in the microelectronics/ electronics hybrid thin film applications. Provide a high level of technical contribution in the insertion and implementation of technology in high volume microelectronics/electronics assembly processes.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

      Work closely with customers to tailor products for their specifications and needs

      Work with marketing to help identify new potential markets and applications for the technology

      Participate in technical discussions and provide critical advice to management to maintain a focus on commercial excellence.

      Apply solid understanding of microelectronics/electronics assembly to the development of innovative products.

      Analyze and identify problems with existing products and originate process changes.

      Utilize expertise to formulate novel solutions to technical problems to accelerate development of new products based on customer needs.

      Function as a technical resource to sales, marketing, technical service, and manufacturing.

      Maintain accurate and complete records for projects, including review of records of all project personnel.

      Author engineering and technical reports, project updates, and technical overviews.

      Work with other engineers to prototype products for electronics applications.

      Debug new products and improve existing designs.

      Perform reliability testing of new products.

      Work with electronics manufacturing customers to insert technology onto their lines.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

      Experience in microelectronics/electronics assembly/packaging.

      Knowledge of solders and joining/surfacement technology

      Mechanical assemblies

      Product launch

      Problems solving and debugging

      Rework of electronic circuit boards

      Reliability testing

      Knowledge or experience in first level failure analysis is desirable.

      Comfortable working directly with current and/or prospective customers to promote their awareness of product line and resolve problems.

      Strong analytical skills, proven problem solving skills, strong customer interface skills, and the capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

      Experience with DOE and industry-appropriate statistical tools.

 

 

EDUCATION:          B.S./M.S., Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science, or relevant industry business experience.

 

COMPENSATION: Competitive base salary commensurate with experience plus bonus.
