The MD Department of General Services seeks two senior level engineers to provide professional expertise in reviewing construction documents (drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and calculations) prepared by A/E consultants. May also design and produce construction documents as needed. These engineers will provide building inspection reports and participate in contractors’ pre-qualification process.

The Department of General Services has the important mission of supporting the operational needs of customer agencies and the citizens they serve. Our Facilities Planning, Design and Construction Division is responsible for Statewide Executive Branch Capital Project program review, which includes providing feasible alternatives, cost estimates, technical review comments, and design and construction schedules. As the engineering and facilities advisor to the Governor and the Board of Public Works, the staff provides support to the Secretary as well as to various committees and commissions. The impact that DGS has when it successfully achieves its mission extends throughout the State and to future generations of citizens and State employees.

Requirements:

Requires eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in Maryland or in a state with comparable requirements.
